Want to watch some great wrestling this weekend? The Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase will be held in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and broadcast live on FloWrestling.

This year’s version features 128 State champions, National Prep champions and NHSCA National placewinners. The rest of the field features 2022 state placewinners and those who advanced from one of five 2022 Showcase Qualifiers.

The event was created in 2021, and held alongside the girls division in Coralville, Iowa. This year, the boys and girls events split apart, and the boys event, who wrestle folkstyle, is being held as part of the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals.

There are no returning National High School Showcase champions in the field, but there are 12 returning Showcase All-Americans, led by 2021 Recruiting Showcase runner-up Markel Baker of Illinois, who will wrestle at 126 pounds this year.

This event serves as the first leg of the USA Wrestling Triple Crown. Champions this week can go on to win the Triple Crown by winning USA Wrestling national titles in Greco-Roman and freestyle in either the Junior or the 16U age groups.

Included in this Showcase field are seven 2021 USA Wrestling Folkstyle National champions. 2021 Junior Folkstyle champions in the Showcase field are Hunter Garvin of Iowa (152) and Tate Naaktegboren of Iowa (182), both who are two-time state champions. The five 2021 Cadet Folkstyle champions in the Showcase are Mack Mauger of Idaho (106), Jason Mara of Idaho (138), Zane Licht of Wisconsin (152), Aeoden Sinclair of Wisconsin (182) and Noah Wenzel of Illinois (195).

Many of these entries have also been very successful in USA Wrestling’s national freestyle and Greco-Roman programs.
