Over the next few days, TheMat.com will be releasing the tentative delegation rosters for the state association teams which will be competing at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16U Nationals in Fargo, N.D., July 12-19.

These rosters will include athletes who are competing in all six national tournaments, broken down by weight class and style.

Currently, state associations are entering their teams through USA Wrestling’s membership system. As the delegation rosters are completed, we will edit and review them, and post them for fans to enjoy.

We will also note the returning All-Americans on each team, as well as any wrestlers who are in the most recent FloWrestling High School Rankings for boys as well as the National High School rankings for girls. The FloWrestling rankings do not include graduated seniors, while the National Girls High School Rankings include graduated seniors.

Today we provide rosters from Utah, New Jersey, Nebraska, Idaho and Nevada.

Utah returns the only three-time All-American from Fargo last year, Sage Mortimer, who won the U16 title and was a Junior National finalist in women’s wrestling. She also became the first girl to place at the Junior Nationals in Greco-Roman with her All-American finish there. Mortimer is entered in all three divisions again this year. Also on the Utah team is returning women’s Junior All-American Kierstien Bush, along with two other nationally ranked girls on the team.

Traditional freestyle power New Jersey brings back a strong team, with Christopher Foca, a Junior All-American in both styles last year, plus four other 16U freestyle All-Americans: Alex Almeyda, Jack Maida, Joseph Zargo and Connor O’Neill. The Garden State team has six boys who are nationally ranked in the most recent FloRankings, plus a pair of nationally ranked girls, including returning 16U All-American Sydney Petzinger.

Nebraska boasts returning All-Americans in all three styles, led by 2018 16U Freestyle National champion Jakason Burks. The state has four returning Greco-Roman All-Americans, Juniors Damen Pape and Dillyn Miller and 16U placers Caleb Coyle and Archer Heelen. The returning 16U women’s All-American is Paige Denke. Maxx Mayfield is also nationally ranked in the FloRankings.

Idaho boasts a pair of returning Greco-Roman national champion, with Ridge Lovett winning last year as a Junior and Kaden Ramos winning in the 16U division. Both were All-Americans in both styles in 2018. Christopher Martino was also a double All-American as a 16U athlete last year. Add in returning Junior girls All-American Brelane Huber and Junior Greco All-American Ezekial Williamson.

Nevada boasts a returning national champion in 16U women’s winner Sterling Dias, plus a pair of women’s 16U All-Americans in Tehani Soares and Jenavi Alejandro. There are four Nevada women’s team members who appear in the national rankings.

The U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16U Nationals in Fargo, N.D., will be broadcast live on FloWrestling.
