USA Wrestling will post regular updates on the athletes who have qualified for the 2018 U.S. Greco-Roman World Team Trials, which is set for Tulsa, Okla., June 21-22. The Greco-Roman World Team Trials will determine the athletes to represent the USA at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary, October 20-28.
The most recent update includes the results of the Marine Corps U.S. Open, which was held in Las Vegas, Nev., April 26-27. The top seven athletes in each weight class at the U.S. Open advance to the Greco-Roman World Team Trials, although many of these placewinners had already qualified.
The champion of the 2018 U.S. Open in each of the 10 weight classes advance directly to the best-of-three Championship Series of the Greco-Roman World Team Trials in Tulsa.
As of May 1, there have been 140 athletes who have qualified for the Greco-Roman World Team Trials, based upon their performances in the specified Greco-Roman competitions from the approved 2018 World Team Trials Qualification and Procedures for Greco-Roman.
This number could increase because any of the top seven placewinners from the 2017 and 2018 U.S. Open in freestyle are eligible to compete in the Greco-Roman World Team Trials, as well any of the 2018 NCAA Div. I All-Americans.
