MARQUETTE, Mich. —The second annual Superior International Camp and Competition, located in the Northern Michigan University Olympic Training Site, is seeking additional American Greco-Roman wrestlers in the UWW Cadet and UWW Junior age groups to participate in this international event on June 8-15, 2015.
The event is split into two parts. First, there is a joint training camp held from June 8-12. Following the camp, the Superior International Competition will commence from June 13-15. Teams may arrive on June 7 and depart June 16, if they wish. This camp will provide numerous workout partners and guarantee 8-10 matches for each athlete.
This is an amazing opportunity for U.S. wrestlers to get high quality international training and competition. It is a great way to prepare for the important summer events on the national and international levels.
Registration fees are $50 per day, which covers room and board, as well as transportation to and from the Marquette airport.
The coaching staff for this event will be the NMU-OTS Greco-Roman coaches Rob Hermann and Aghasi Manukyan. Hermann has won four National Greco-Roman titles and was the U.S. Olympic team head coach in 1996. Manukyan has a wrestling history that includes participating on the Soviet Union and Armenia national teams, competing in the 1996 Olympic Games, and was a 1993 World Champion.
