Titan Mercury WC to face club teams from Ukraine, Georgia in Pool A of World Clubs Cup in Ukraine

KHARKOV, Ukraine – The Titan Mercury WC, the U.S. representative in the Freestyle World Clubs Cup, has received its pool pairing for the first day of competition on Wednesday.
Titan Mercury WC has drawn into Pool A, where they will face the No. 1 club team from host Ukraine as well as a club team from Georgia. Titan Mercury has a bye in the first rotation, then will wrestle against Ukraine first, then Georgia second.
There are 12 teams in the tournament, split into four pools. Ukraine and Iran have two teams. Below are the pool pairings for the event.

The winners of each pool will advance to a semifinals, where the winners will advance to the team finals, while the losers will compete for third place. There will be placement matches for the top 10 teams.
The Titan Mercury Team is loaded, led by 2016 Olympic champion and 2015 World champion Kyle Snyder at 96 kg/213 lbs. and two other members of the 2016-17 U.S. Freestyle National Team are also on the roster, Alex Dieringer at 74 kg/163 lbs. and David Taylor at 86 kg/189 lbs. Also on the Titan Mercury WC team is Vladimir Khinchegashvili of Georgia, a 2016 Olympic champion, competing up at 61 kg/134 lbs.

One of the interesting matchups expected in the Titan Mercury WC vs. Georgia dual meet is at 96 kg/213 lbs., where Snyder will compete against Elizbar Odikadze, who Snyder defeated in the 2016 Olympics semifinal match by a 9-4 margin. Odikadze ended up fifth in the weight class in Rio.
There is prize money for the top three teams, with $25,000 going to the first-place team, $15,000 to the second-place team and $10,000 for the third-place team.
