Minnesota tops Junior Greco-Roman National Duals All-Tournament Team with five members

TULSA, Okla. – The All-Tournament Team in Greco-Roman has been announced from the Junior National Duals, a dual meet competition featuring high school wrestlers representing state association teams.
An athlete must go undefeated in a minimum number of matches in that specific style to earn All-Tournament Team honors.
In Greco-Roman, there were 51 athletes on the All-Tournament Team, representing 23 different states. Minnesota, which won the championship this year, had the most All-Tournament Team members with five. Four states had four on the All-Tournament Team, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Utah.
Of the athletes on both All-Tournament Team, the best records were held by Elijah Varona of Florida at 106 pounds and Nolan Funk of Colorado at 195 pounds, both who had 9-0 records in the competition.
Included on the All-Tournament Team were six Junior Nationals Greco-Roman finalists from 2015, including Junior National champions Jaret Lane of Pennsylvania (now at 106), Mitchell McKee of Minnesota (now at 138) and Trent Hidlay of Pennsylvania (now at 160), plus Junior Nationals runners-up Elijah Varona of Florida (now at 106), Taylor LaMont of Utah (now at 132) and Austin O’Connor of Illinois (now at 152).
The freestyle competition is being held on Friday and Saturday, with all of the action broadcast live on Flowrestling.
