Final 24 athletes qualify for U.S. Olympic Team Trials field in Iowa City at Last Chance Trials Qualifier

There were 24 athletes added this past weekend for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling, which will be held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa, April 9-10. The qualification process is now completed.
The Last Chance Trials Qualifier was held in Cedar Falls, Iowa on April 1-3. This was an Olympic Trials qualifier in all three styles, with the champions in each of the Olympic weight classes earning a spot in the field in Iowa City. In women’s freestyle, the runners-up were also qualifiers, based upon the procedures approved in that style only.
The athletes added to the Olympic Trials field were:
Men’s Freestyle 57 kg/125.5 pounds– Obe Blanc, Raleigh, N.C. (Titan Mercury WC)

Please note that the qualifiers may enter any weight class in the U.S. Olympic Trials that they wish, and are not restricted to competing only at the weight in which they qualified.
At this time, the total number of qualifiers through the #Road2IowaCity qualifying process is 238 wrestlers. This includes 78 men’s freestyle wrestlers, 71 Greco-Roman wrestlers and 93 women’s freestyle wrestlers.

All-session tickets to the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team Trials are available for purchase. All-session options include adult ($75), and youth (18 and younger, $50). VIP tickets are sold out. Fans can purchase tickets at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, over the phone at 1-800-IA-HAWKS, or online at iowacitytorio.com.
As of last Friday, nearly 10,000 tickets have been purchased for the 2016 Olympic Wrestling Team Trials, hosted by the University of Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on April 9-10. Just over 4,000 tickets remain, and based upon the long tradition of late ticket purchases and walkup attendance at major USA Wrestling and University of Iowa wrestling events, fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.
