Mason Manville (Blairstown, N.J./Team USA) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Manville captured a silver medal for the United States at the Youth Olympic Games on Monday in Nanjing, China.

Manville placed second in the Greco-Roman competition at 69 kg/152 lbs.

Manville went undefeated in pool play, earning convincing victories over Jordan Marshall of New Zealand (8-0), Nilton Soto of Peru (8-0), and Karan Mosebach of Germany (7-3) to secure a spot in the gold-medal match against reigning FILA Cadet World bronze medalist Islambek Dadov of Azerbaijan.

In the finals, Dadov earned a caution against Manville late in the match and scored a one-point lift to take the match 1-0.

Manville has had a banner summer, winning a FILA Cadet World freestyle title and a Junior Nationals freestyle title last month.
