There’s still time for girls to register for the respected Wrestle Like A Girl Iowa Classic in Coralville, June 9-10

Girls from across the nation in six different age groups will come together for a popular and growing USA Wrestling sanctioned event, the 2nd annual Wrestle Like A Girl Iowa Classic, at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa, June 9-10.


The competition will feature freestyle wrestling on Friday, June 9 and folkstyle wrestling on Saturday, June 10.


This event offers girls who have only wrestled folkstyle a chance to also compete in freestyle, which is the style contested in college and at the World level. Wrestling in both styles helps girls to improve a wider range of important wrestling skills, which leads to more success in their folkstyle career. This event offers a perfect opportunity to help wrestlers make the transition to freestyle at an early age, which will help open doors for more wrestling opportunity in the future.


Friday evening after the freestyle competition, there will have a free clinic for participants and a free Wrestling Leaders Clinic for coaches and officials interested in learning more about USA Wrestling and Iowa USA Wrestling coach and official education

The tournament organizers are excited to continue the Wrestle Like A Girl Iowa Classic, which is dedicated to showcasing the skills and talents of female wrestlers. The tournament will feature some of the best female wrestlers in the region, and all girls and their families are invited to come and witness their strength and determination.


The results from this competition at the 16U and Junior levels will be considered for the final National Girls High School Rankings for the 2022-23 season, which will be published prior to the 2023 Junior and 16U Nationals in Fargo, N.D.


Spectators Ticket Prices

Kids (Ages 5-17): $5 per day or $10 for 2 days

Adults (18 and over): $15 per day or $25 for 2 days
