University of Iowa Wrestling Statement: Spencer Lee to medically forfeit out of NCAAs today

The University of Iowa issued the following statement this morning:
“It has been a long road of a recovery for Spencer Lee. He will medically forfeit out of the 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships today in Tulsa.”
Editor's Note: Lee, a three-time NCAA champion and a redshirt senior, was pinned in the 125-pound semifinals at 6:59 by Matt Ramos of Purdue last night. Lee was scheduled to compete on Saturday morning in the consolation semifinals against Brandon Courtney of Arizona State. Lee will placed sixth at 125 pounds.
