United World Wrestling has posted in the event schedule on its website, and also notified the national federations, about the complete schedule for the 2023 Senior World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, September 16-24.

The Senior World Championships will be held at Stark Arena, the same venue which hosted the 2022 Senior World Championships.

Men’s freestyle runs from September 16-19, women’s freestyle from September 18-21 and Greco-Roman from September 21-24.

This is the first of the qualifying events for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. The top five wrestlers in each of the 18 Olympic weight classes qualify their nation to compete at that weight class in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

What is new this year is that only five athletes per Olympic weight class qualify their nation for Paris. In the 2020 Olympic cycle, both fifth-place wrestlers from the 2019 Senior Worlds at the Olympic weights earned Olympic berths for the 2020 Tokyo Games, meaning six nations qualified. However, in Belgrade, there will be a “Paris 2024 Qualifying Round” where the two fifth-place finishers at the Olympic weights wrestle off to earn the fifth qualifying berth for Paris.

Belgrade is six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time zone. The schedule for session times (as well as for the draw) is below.
