U15 Pan American Team Trials slated for August 12-13 in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The U15 Pan American Team Trials will take place on August 12-13 at the Air Force Academy Cadet Fieldhouse in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
This event features U15 athletes, both boys and girls, who are born 2008-2010. Athletes who are eligible to compete in this event must have prequalified, as detailed by the U15 Pan American Team Procedures.
The champion in the U15 girls weight class qualifies to represent the United States at the 2023 Pan American Championships. The U15 boys with the highest point value (both styles combined) will earn the right to compete in both Greco-Roman and freestyle at the 2023 U15 Pan American Championship in Panama City, Panama on November 23-26, 2023.
Registrations for this event are still open, with the deadline for seeding set for Sunday, August 6. As of August 3, there are 41 athletes registered in boy’s freestyle, 42 athletes registered for Greco-Roman, and 36 athletes registered in girl’s freestyle.
All competitors must be U.S. citizens. Below are the specific criteria that qualifies age-eligible athletes to compete in the 2023 U15 Pan American Trials:
Boys:
Top 8 from 2023 U15 Nationals (Las Vegas) – either style
Top 8 from 2023 16U Nationals (Fargo) – either style
Top 8 from 2023 Junior Nationals (Fargo) – either style
Top 3 from 2022 &/or 2023 Kids Nationals – either style
Girls:
Top 8 from 2023 U15 Nationals (Spokane)
Top 8 from 2023 16U Nationals (Fargo)
Top 3 from 2023 Women’s Nationals – 14U age eligible (Spokane)
As a Team Trials event, the championship finals will consist of a best-of-three series between the winners of the semifinals.
Admission prices are $30 (Weekend Pass) and $15 (Daily Pass). Kids who are 6 and under are free. All admission will be done at the door at the Cadet Fieldhouse.
The event will be held alongside the special Final X Wrestle-Off between Helen Maroulis and Xochitl Mota-Pettis that determines the athlete that will compete at the 2023 Senior World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, in September.
