U.S. men’s freestyle team set for Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 5-6

The U.S. men’s freestyle team that will compete at the Pan American Senior Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 5-6, has been set with the conclusion of the U.S. Open in men’s freestyle in Las Vegas, Nev. today.


The men’s freestyle team, which competes May 5-6, will feature six 2022 Senior World medalists, all who accepted their berth on the team: 2022 World champions Kyle Dake (74 kg), Jordan Burroughs (79 kg) and Kyle Snyder (97 kg) plus 2022 World silver medalists Thomas Gilman (57 kg), Yianni Diakomihalis (65 kg) and Zain Retherford (70 kg).


The Pan American men’s freestyle team weight classes which were determined at the U.S. Open were 61 kg, 92 kg and 125 kg.


2023 U.S. Open champion and 2023 NCAA champion Vito Arujau agreed to compete at the Pan American Championships at 61 kg, as did 2023 U.S. Open champion Michael Macchiavello at 92 kg.


Rounding out the line-up is two-time Junior World champion Mark Hall will compete at 86 kg, as well as Dom Bradley at 125 kg. Both Hall and Bradley has won U.S. Open titles in the past.


The Pan American Championships will be followed on May 7-8 with the first UWW Beach World Series event. The United States will field a team of men and women to compete in the event.


The Senior Pan American Championships and the Beach World Series – Buenos Aires will be broadcast live by FloWrestling. Buenos Aires time is one hour ahead of U.S. Eastern time zone.
