USA Wrestling, the national governing body for wrestling in the United States, has announced that Meredith Suess of Brookings, S.D., has joined the USA Wrestling staff as Coordinator, National Teams & Regional Training Centers. Suess will work full-time in the National Teams Department and will work at USA Wrestling’s National Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., starting in January.

Suess comes to USA Wrestling after serving five years as the Head Manager for the South Dakota State wrestling program. In her role with this successful NCAA Div. I program, Suess handled a variety of administrative and management roles for the team. Among her duties were creating and implementing the team’s social media marketing plan, assisting with new recruit visits, and performing photo shoots.

She handled multiple functions for the annual Warren Williamson Daktronics Open. In addition, she had numerous management responsibilities with the Jackrabbit Wrestling Club.

“USA Wrestling and the National Teams Department is very excited to have Meredith join the organization. Meredith has been fully invested in the sport of wrestling throughout her life and on into her time while finishing her college education at South Dakota State University. She comes highly recommended after having served as the Head Manager for the SDSU wrestling program. The experiences she gained while running wrestling events, club functions and team travel logistics will transition nicely into her new role within National Teams. We welcome Meredith and look forward to the start of her professional career here at USA Wrestling,” said Cody Bickley, USA Wrestling’s Director of National Teams High Performance.

Suess also served as a graduate administrative assistant for social media for the South Dakota State School of Health and Consumer Sciences. She reviewed and approved all 10 programs’ social media content as well as creating and posting new content to their platforms.

She has been involved with wrestling in some capacity throughout her life, as the daughter of a wrestling coach, and with a twin brother who was a wrestler. She also served as the manager of her high school wrestling team for six years.

Suess received a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from South Dakota State University in 2021, with minors in management, events and facilities admistration and recreation. She is scheduled to receive a Masters of Science in Sport and Recreation Management from South Dakota State in May 2023.
