Emma Bruntil wins gold medal at Ion Corneanu International in Romania

BUCHAREST, Romania - Emma Bruntil (Acme, Wash./Titan Mercury WC/Bearcat WC) went 3-0 in a four-athlete roundrobin at 62 kg to claim a gold medal in women’s freestyle at the Ion Corneanu International on September 4.
Bruntil was dominant, winning all three of her matches by technical fall.
All three of her wins were by 10-0 margins. She defeated, in order, Raya Kyoseva of Bulgaria, Karadeniz Merwe of Turkey and Cakmak Yagmur of Turkey.
Bruntil is a junior at McKendree University, and a two-time NCWWC (NCAA-only) national champion. She has earned a spot on the 2021 U.S. U23 World Team, and was a U.S. Senior Open champion in December 2019.
