Editor’s Note: Hosted by Friends University, a field with NAIA, NCAA and NJCAA teams from the Midwest came together to get the season underway. Editor’s Note: Hosted by Wisconsin-Stevens Point, the tournament featured a number of NCAA programs from the Midwest. NCAA No. 1 McKendree had three individual champions, Cameron Guerin (130), Alara Boyd (155) and Joye Levendusky (170), plus two weight classes where both of the finalists were from McKendree and decided to take a double forfeit, 109 pounds and 191 pounds. NCAA No. 7 North Central secured two champions, Mateah Roehl (116) and Sara Sulejmani (136). Two of the champions were not affiliated with colleges, Alisha Howk of Victory Wrestling (123) and Katie Lange of Twin Cities RTC (143). Host Wisconsin Stevens Point, ranked No. 13 in the NCAA, had the other champion, Brooke Thurber (101).
