Ten wrestlers make Greco-Roman World Team and Skellenger brings home outstanding wrestler award at Cadet World Team Trials

Wisconsin Dells, Wis. – The first day of action is done at the UWW Cadet and U15 Nationals, and the 2021 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team is set. The ten weight class winners will represent the U.S. at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary this June.
In addition to making the World Team, Jadon Skellenger brought home outstanding wrestler honors after an impressive run through the 65 kg bracket. Skellenger, a 2019 U15 World champion, downed Tyler Antoniak, a fellow U15 World champion, 8-0 in the semifinals. He followed it up with two-straight wins over 2018 U15 World bronze medalist Joel Adams, 11-8 and 8-0, to claim the World Team spot.
Aden Valencia is another 2019 U15 World champion that made his second age-group World Team. Valencia earned two technical falls, 10-2 and 9-1, over Otto Black in the 48 kg finals.
2019 Cadet World Team member Cory Land made his second Cadet World Team, winning the 55 kg bracket. Land, who finished eighth at 48 kg in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2019, defeated Gable Porter in two-straight matches, 8-0 and 8-4.
The only finals series to go to three matches came at 51 kg between Kaedyn Williams and Treygen Morin. The series was a wild one, with Williams claiming match one, 11-9. Morin battled back to take the second bout 14-11. Williams cemented himself as the World Team representative in match three with a 9-4 victory.
At 45 kg, Bo Basset dominated the competition cruising into the finals with two technical falls. In the best-of-three series, he kept his momentum going, picking up a pin and an 11-2 technical fall over Mack Mauger.
Brock Bobzien turned in a monster day at 60 kg, earning four technical falls in five matches to make the finals, where he then recorded two more technical falls in back-to-back 8-0 victories over Ayson Rice.
Braden Stauffenberg claimed the 71 kg spot with two wins over Malachi Rider, 7-3 and 9-3. His teammate, Nathan Wemstrom earned the 92 kg spot, defeating Connor Barket in the best-of-three finals, 8-0 and 7-2.
At 110 kg, Jimmy Mullen, who skipped the New Jersey high school state tournament to compete for a World Team spot, accomplished his goal, downing Aden Attao, 12-3 and 10-0 in the best-of- three finals.
The final World Team member is Ryder Rogotzke at 80 kg. Rogotzke defeated his teammate Antony Tuttle, by fall in the finals. Tuttle, who suffered a hand injury earlier in the tournament, medically forfeited the second match.
