Draws Announced for 2026 U17 Pan American Championships

Evan Restivo competing in the finals of men's freestyle at the 2026 Pan American Team Trials
PANAMA CITY, Panama – Draws for men’s and women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman have been announced for the 2026 U17 Pan American Championships at Centro de Alto Rendimiento "Luis Tejada".
A quintet of U15 Pan American medalists leads Team USA into the U17 Pan American Championships. Rylen Wax, Evan Restivo, Abigail Peterson, Olivia Hernandez and Hailey Delgado all medaled at the previous U15 Pan American Championships.
In the men’s freestyle draw, Wax opens the 45 kg bracket against Panama’s Adrian Gonzalez Jimenez. Then, in Greco-Roman competition on Saturday, Wax will be in a five-man round-robin tournament against Jorge Cruz Cruz of Mexico, Nelson Villafane III of Puerto Rico, Cristhian Cevallos Espana of Ecuador and Fernando Jimeno Mendizabal of Peru.
Restivo begins the 51 kg freestyle bracket against U15 Pan American champion William Soto of Puerto Rico or U15 Pan American silver medalist Jorge Borges Da Silva from Brazil. Restivo’s Greco-Roman group pits him against Emiliano Garcia Yepez of Ecuador, Danny Ardines Calvo of Panama and Francesko Canayo Ipushima of Peru.
At 43 kg in women’s freestyle, Peterson begins her continental championship against Canada’s Maya Naicker. Two-time age-group Pan American champion Hernandez faces Ashly Choc Choc of Guatemala in her first match at 46 kg.
Delgado rounds out the returning age-group Pan American medalists at 49 kg against Amy Molina Huamani of Peru.

The continental championship begins on Thursday with men’s freestyle, followed by women’s freestyle on Friday and Greco-Roman on Saturday. Beach wrestling will cap off the weekend on Sunday.
