The 2025 Senior World Championships continue on Wednesday from Arena Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia. Today will feature women’s freestyle group two (50-57-65-76 kg) repechage and medal matches, plus women’s freestyle group three (53-62-68-72 kg) preliminary rounds. Updates and results from each Team USA match can be found below.



10:30 a.m. – Qualification Rounds (WFS 53-62-68-72 kg), Repechage (WFS 50-57-65-76 kg)

4:30 p.m. – Semifinals (WFS 53-62-68-72 kg)

6 p.m. – Medal Matches (WFS 50-57-65-76 kg)

Snap into a front headlock, Maroulis grabs the two-on-one, Son circles out of it. Back to the same position, Son circles out to a single leg, a scramble ensues to no points. Officials are conferring at the 4:34 mark and the no points call stands. Son goes on the shot clock at 4:18, we are scoreless. The clock expires and Maroulis leads, 1-0. The 1-0 score holds to the break. Maroulis is put on the shot clock at 2:19. The clock expires and we are tied, 1-1, Son with criteria. Maroulis steps out with 1:32 to go. Maroulis gets close to landing her fireman’s, but goes out of bounds grounded. It’s still 2-1 with 30 seconds to go. Inside trip connects for Maroulis with 6 seconds on the board and she takes the match 3-2. Incredible.


Single leg Kilty, she cuts it back for a takedown and is close to getting some exposure as well. Tuvshinjargal fends it off. It’s 2-0 halfway through the first. A front headlock go-behind for Tuvshinjargal and the match is tied, 2-2. The score stands at the break with Tuvshinjargal holding criteria. Kilty gets in deep on a single leg with about 30 seconds left, struggles forward as she tries to get the takedown. Kilty gets countered for two and is down 4-2 late. Tuvshinjargal takes it 4-2.


Snatch single leg, backside trip, right into a gutwrench for Welker. She leads it 4-0 in the first 36 seconds. A good hand fight lasts until the break. The score remains 4-0 Welker. Alpyeyeva gets in on a shot, Welker whizzers and fends it off to start the period. Welker goes for the high-level single again, but this time she gets caught going out of bounds. It’s 4-1 Welker with 1:12 to go. Alpyeyeva caught underneath off her own shot attempt, no points, 33 seconds remaining. Alpyeyeva drives a double leg off the mat for another step out, 4-2 Welker with 24 seconds to go. Shot Alpyeyeva, Welker sprawls, hits a go-behind and she takes the 6-2 lead. Welker hangs on for the 6-2 win.

Nwachukwu on the early shot clock, gives up the first point of the match with one minute to go in the period. That’s it for the first. Relatively low pace from both wrestlers. Nwachukwu presses her attack, overextends and gets taken to her back. The action goes out of bounds. It’s 3-0 Purevdorj. Nwachkwu comes back with a crotch lift for her first points of the match to cut it to 3-2. Outside double attempt from Nwachukwu and she gets headlocked to her back. Time runs out for Nwachukwu. She falls, 5-2.


Low single from Ishii, arm turk finish and Ishii is able to expose Blades. The sequence is called two and two. Blades is down 4-0, 35 seconds into the match. An arm drag takedown for Ishii and she adds another two. Ishii locks up the ankle lace and converts for another score. It’s 8-0 Ishii at with 1:04 to go in the period. Blades drives a double leg off the mat to get on the board with a step out. Shot from Ishii, Blades counters and nearly scores, but Ishii reverses the action and gets on top to lead 10-1 going into the break. Blades attempts an ankle pick from space, gets countered for the takedown. 12-1 final for Ishii.


Nurtaeva is put on the shot clock halfway through the period. The clock expires, point to Glaude. That’s it for the first. Glaude was close to converting an outside double but couldn’t nail the finish. Snap, double for Glaude, who drives Nurtaeva off the mat for a takedown. It’s a 3-0 advantage for Glaude. Single leg from Nurtaeva, she’s around behing and adds a gut to take over the lead, 4-3. Glaude is put on the shot clock at 1:14. She drives a double leg off the mat to nullify the clock and tie the match, 4-4. Nurtaeva comes right back with a single leg to take a 6-4 lead. Glaude gives up a go-behind while pressing late and drops the match, 8-4.


Heavy snap with exposure from Lindborg, she goes behind for the early takedown, 4-0. That’s the only score in the first period. Nwachukwu shoots a single, comes upper body and launches for a five-point back arch. She adds another turn to make it 7-4. Nwachukwu whips an overhook toss off the mat for four, 11-4 Nwachukwu. Back to the double leg, Nwachukwu strikes, and it’s 13-4. Nwachukwu gives up a takedown in garbage time and gets the win, 13-6.


Blades opens things up by driving a single leg drive off the mat for one. Sweep single, run backside for a Blades takedown. Double leg to the back for Blades to go up 7-0. Great single leg defense, heavy hips for a third Blades takedown. She tacks on a turn to ice it 11-0 in the first period.


Step out Ilyasoglu to start things off, 1-0 Nwachukwu. Nwachukwu drives through a shot, Ilyasoglu counters and we go off the mat grounded with no points. Ilyasoglu with the first takedown of the bout to take a 2-1 lead. Upper body ties on the edge, Nwachukwu steps out first, and it’s 3-1 at the break. Nwachukwu defends a single leg and gets around behind for the score, 3-3. Go-behind for Nwachukwu late off a Ilyasoglu high-c attempt. Nwachukwu counters a desperation throw and will take the decision 7-3.


Glaude pushes a two-on-one off the mat for a step out 47 seconds into the match. Furuichi goes on the shot clock at with 49 second to go in the first period, still 1-0 Glaude. Clock expires and point to Glaude. It’s 2-0 going into the break. Back to the two-on-one and Glaude drives Furuichi out for another point, 3-0. Furuichi strikes back with a double leg takedown to make it 3-2. Glaude fights off the final sprint from Furuichi to get the win.


A snap down, go-behind for Zhang to open the scoring. Taylor fights off a deep ankle lace and the score stays, 2-0. Shot from Taylor, head in the hold Zhang, but no points as time expires in the first. Zhang leads 2-0 at the break. Zhang goes high-c, Taylor cuts the corner and gets caught in a leg lag. She gave up the takedown but no turn to keep it 4-0 with 2:02 left. Four-point counter for Zhang off Taylor’s shot attempt and it’s 8-0. Zhang heavy on the head, runs through a single to win it 10-0 over Taylor.


A step out for Glaude to open the match 1-0 in 20 seconds. A drag setup, blast double to the back for Glaude makes it 5-0 in the first minute. It’ll be 5-0 at the break, Glaude controlling things from the front headlock position. A short drag from the front headlock, Glaude transitions to another double leg, to the back, gets the pin at 3:31.


Welker goes low level single to the right side, circles around behind, and pops Yasin through for two exposure going off the mat. A go-behind takedown for Welker, right into a trapped arm gutwrench for two turns makes it 8-0 halfway through the first period. Welker nabs a go-behind to end it 10-0 in 2:36.


Step out for Bullen early, 1-0. A go-behind takedown for Kilty right before the break to lead it 2-1. Bullen goes on the shot clock with 2:10 left in the match. A single leg to the back for Kilty and she gets the pin in 4:39.
