(Coralville, IA) – March 16, 2026 – USA Wrestling is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for the United World Wrestling (UWW) Senior Pan-American Wrestling Championships at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa. The competition is set for May 7-10. Athletes from North, Central, and South America will compete in Greco-Roman, men’s freestyle, and women’s freestyle. Over 20 countries are expected to be represented.
Wrestling will kick off on Thursday, May 7, with qualifying rounds in eight Greco-Roman weight classes. An opening ceremony will take place that afternoon, followed by Greco-Roman finals. May 8 will include a mix of women’s freestyle and the remaining Greco-Roman weight classes. Saturday, May 9, is the start of men’s freestyle, plus the remaining women’s freestyle weight classes. Sunday concludes with men’s freestyle. Action begins at 10 a.m. (CT) each day, with medal matches scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT).
This is the second UWW international wrestling event hosted at Xtream Arena. In 2022, UWW’s Freestyle World Cup was held, marking a historic moment as both men and women competed with equal billing. The Iowa City area also hosted the Freestyle World Cup in 2018 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, plus the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Wrestling in 2012 and 2016.
“It’s an honor to be able to host the Pan-American Championships,” said Josh Schamberger, President of Think Iowa City and the Iowa City Area Sports Commission. “We are ‘Wrestletown USA’ for a reason. This is a terrific opportunity to display the Iowa City/Coralville community to the world.”
Detailed schedule and information on the event are available from UWW. Ticket packages are available from Xtream Arena.
