Lynn Horn named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week
by Savannah Asmann, USA Wrestling
Lynn Horn (Hill Trained/Blanchard, Okla.) has been named the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week on October 11, 2023.
Horn placed first in her weight class at the 2023 Fall Brawl last weekend, going 3-0 with two falls and a major decision. She had a first round bye in the bracket, then pinned her opponent in just 14 seconds in her first match.
She followed the pin with a 12-0 major decision, pushing her into the finals. A victory by fall at 1:07 in the finals sealed Horn’s win.
Earlier this year, Horn, a junior at Blanchard High School, navigated her way through a tough 16U bracket to win her first National title in Fargo, North Dakota. She is the No. 24 ranked pound-for-pound wrestler in the National Girls High School Preseason Rankings and the No. 2 ranked wrestler at 130 pounds.
