Marlee Solomon (McDonald, Pa./Canon-McMillan) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by Air Force Special Warfare, on November 26, 2005.

The high school junior from Canon-McMillan emerged with a pair of impressive women’s college open tournament titles over the weekend, earning top prize at the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday and the Baldwin Wallace Open on Sunday.

The MoVal Open is considered one of the toughest women’s college tournaments held in the U.S. annually. Solomon ran through the 117-pound bracket in Marshall, Missouri, with six wins, two of which came by pin and two more by technical fall. Solomon scored notable wins over Iowa’s Harlee Hiller in the quarterfinals, 9-2, Canada’s U17 World champion Kaura Coles in the semifinals, 9-9, and Lindsey Wilson’s Grace Lashinsky in the finals by fall in 3:31.

The following day, Solomon made her way to Berea, Ohio, where she topped the 124-pound bracket at Baldwin Wallace with a 4-0 record that included three pins. She defeated unattached athlete Kayla Moroschan in the finals, 12-4.

Solomon is currently ranked No. 3 at 115 pounds at the high school level. She is a two-time runner-up at the 16U Nationals held annually in Fargo, N.D. She has placed second and third at the National Girls High School Recruiting Showcase the past two years and was a third-place finisher at the 2025 U17 Women’s Nationals.
