Adam Waters named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare

Adam Waters competes at the 2025 Air Force Special Warfare Junior National Duals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Adam Waters (Stowe, Pa./Stellar Trained Wrestling) has been named the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, on June 25, 2025.


In Greco-Roman competition, Waters posted a dominant 8-0 record to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team representing Pennsylvania. He racked up five technical falls and three pins, winning all eight matches in the first period, and his quickest fall came in just 36 seconds.


Waters also played a role in helping Pennsylvania Red capture the Junior National Duals freestyle title, going 7-0 at 190 pounds. He outscored his opponents 75-2, and only one match went to a second period.


Waters is a 2024 Junior Greco-Roman national champion and a 2022 Greco-Roman runner-up in the 16U division. He has placed third in freestyle three times, 2023 and 2024 in the Junior division and in 2022 in the 16U division.


Earlier this year, Waters placed third in Greco-Roman at the CLAW U.S. Open in U20 Greco-Roman at 87 kg, and was the runner-up in the U20 Freestyle division at 86 kg.


In 2023, Waters placed eighth at the U17 World Championships in Greco-Roman. He won gold at the U17 Pan American Championships in men’s freestyle and secured silver in Greco-Roman.
