At the 2011 Cadet World Championships, Marina Doi finished just shy of gold, earning a silver medal. In 2012, Doi could not be stopped from reaching the top of the podium.
In the finals, Doi defeated Kazakhstan’s Svetlana Ankicheva, a 2011 Cadet World bronze medalist. Ankicheva would win Cadet gold the following year in 2013. She would also take silver at the 2016 Junior World Championships.
Doi, who is now retired, added Cadet World bronze to her collection in 2013 and a Junior World bronze in 2014, and was a national champion for King University in college.
