Adeline Gray and Kyle Snyder win big in Saturday morning session of Senior Nationals

CORALVILLE, Iowa – The Saturday morning session of the 2020 Senior Nationals brought big names and big action with stars like five-time World champion Adeline Gray and Olympic champion Kyle Snyder taking the mat.
Gray, the first athlete in USA Wrestling history to win five World titles, only wrestled one match this morning at 76 kg, but it took her only 37 seconds to earn the victory with a fall over Samantha Springer. Later today, Gray will wrestle Tristan Kelly in the semifinals, seeking a bid to the championship match.
2016 Olympic champion and two-time World champion Snyder registered two dominant wins this morning, earning a pin in his opening bout in 1:14 over Jeremiah Casto and following it up with a 12-0 tech fall against William Baldwin. In today’s quarterfinals, Snyder will face 2019 Junior Pan Am silver medalist Jakob Woodley.
In the second session, we will see three men’s freestyle quarterfinals that pit two age-group World medalists against each other.
At 74 kg, 2019 Junior World champion David Carr will face 2017 Junior World silver medalist Ryan Deakin. At 97 kg, 2018 U23 and 2017 Junior World silver medalist Kollin Moore takes on 2017 U23 World bronze winner Ty Walz. Finally at 125 kg, 2019 Junior World champion Mason Parris will go head-to-head with 2014 Cadet World silver medalist Jordan Wood.
A number of other Senior World Team members and age-group World medalists competed this morning and are still alive in the championship bracket.

- WFS 62 kg – Jennifer Page; 2013 Junior World bronze
- WFS 68 kg – Forrest Molinari; 2018 and 2019 Senior World Team member
- WFS 76 kg – Victoria Francis; 2017 and 2019 Senior World Team member
- MFS 57 kg – Vitali Arujau; 2016 Cadet World silver, 2019 Junior World silver
- MFS 65 kg – Joey McKenna; 2017 U23 World bronze
- MFS 86 kg – Gabe Dean; 2014 Junior World bronze
- MFS 86 kg – Trent Hidlay; 2019 Junior World bronze
- MFS 125 kg – Dom Bradley; 2009 Junior World champion
- MFS 125 kg – Youssif Hemida; 2018 U23 World silver

Schedule for Saturday evening
The men’s freestyle divisions will wrestle the quarterfinals and semifinals on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT, with the finals set for Sunday.
The remaining women’s freestyle weights will wrestle the semifinals and finals, starting at 4 p.m. CT.
