Match of the Day: Watch David Taylor claim his first World Team spot at Final X in 2018

In 2018, David Taylor was named “Best Wrestler of the Year” in men’s freestyle by United World Wrestling. Taylor brought home a World gold medal at 86 kg, knocking off Iran’s 2016 Olympic champion and 2017 World gold medalist Hassan Yazdani Charati on his way to the title.
While Taylor missed the opportunity to compete for a spot on the World Team in 2019 due to injury, last weekend he qualified the U.S. for the Olympic Games at 86 kg with a Pan Am Olympic Qualifier title. Check out the 2018 Final X victories that put Taylor on the World Team below:
