Match of the Day: Brad Vering and Jake Clark battle to make the 2005 World Team

At the 2005 World Team Trials, Brad Vering and Jake Clark wrestled off for the 84 kg World Team spot. At the time, Vering was a 2004 Olympian who finished fifth at the 2002 and 2003 World Championships. Clark had finished runner-up at both the 2004 Olympic Team Trials and the 2003 World Team Trials.
In 2007, Vering earned a World silver medal. The following year, he would make his second Olympic Team.
Clark made a World Team in 2006 and finished runner-up at the 2007 World Team Trials and the 2016 Olympic Team Trials. Clark, a seven-time National Team member, has competed in five Olympic Team Trials over his career and is still looking to earn a berth for the 2021 Olympic Team Trials.
