#FreestyleFriday top-10 social media posts for the week

by Taylor Miller, USA Wrestling

Social media is a tough place to be these days, so while I try to stay off of it when I’m not working, I also find that social media has the ability to bring a smile to our faces even in the toughest times.

I decided to compile a list of my 10 favorite social media posts by/about some of the US men’s freestyle wrestlers from the last seven days.

James Green (@whoisjamesg) – Twitter

James Green wrapped up his time training at Nebraska, where he spent most of the last decade. He’s beginning his new chapter, heading to the Southeast RTC in Blacksburg, Va.

Jordan Burroughs (@alliseeisgold) - Instagram

Jordan Burroughs shared this video from Bridgestone, one of his major sponsors for the Tokyo Olympics. Really fun and creative video!

David Taylor (@magicman_psu) - Twitter

After his match with Myles Martin last weekend, 2018 World champion David Taylor said he wanted his next match to be against World and Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia.

J’den Cox (@MATrix_8692) - Twitter

J’den Cox had something to say about Taylor’s tweet. Not totally sure if he wants first dibs on Sadulaev or Taylor, but either way, I’m here for it!

Tony Rotundo (@tony_rotundo_wrestling) - Instagram

One of the most talented photographers in wrestling, Tony Rotundo posted his favorite shots from the Dake vs. Chamizo match last week.

Nick Gwiazdowski (@ngwizzz) - Instagram

This is just overall a really cool picture with Nick Gwiazdowski’s garage gym as the setting. This photo also was a reminder that wrestling is on its way back, slowly but surely.

Gable Steveson (@GSteveson) - Twitter

Lots of mystery with this one, but I loved Gable Steveson’s approach with sharing this screenshot. Who do you think he wants to wrestle?

BJ Futrell (@Back2TheFutrell) – Twitter

Love seeing big news coming from former wrestlers that have moved onto the next stage in their life! Congrats to BJ Futrell on his new position with Beat the Streets Philly.

United World Wrestling (@unitedworldwrestling) - Instagram

This one isn’t an exclusively men’s freestyle post, but it’s definitely worth being in the top-10 for the week. UWW’s video team is sooo good at putting these videos together!
