Match of the Day: Zeke Jones defeats Valentin Jordanov in the 1991 World finals

Going into the 1991 World Championships, Valentin Jordanov had already established himself as a legend of the sport. A four-time World champion, one time World runner-up and one-time bronze medalist, Jordanov had been the top 52 kg wrestler in the world for nearly a decade.
At the time, Zeke Jones was a two-time World Team member who had finished seventh and fourth at the 1989 and 1990 World Championships.
Both wrestlers would continue to add to their legacy and their medal collection after this match. Jones finished with silver at the 1992 Olympic Games and bronze at the 1995 World Championships. Jordanov claimed bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games and won three-straight World titles from 1993-1995. He would cap his career with a gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games.
