Pin of the Week: Gabe Tagg pins Roman Bravo-Young in the 2019 UWW Junior Nationals finals
by USA Wrestling
Locked in a tightly contested battle in the 61 kg finals of the 2019 UWW Nationals, Gabe Tagg came up big with a pin over Penn State’s Roman Bravo-Young. At the time, Tagg was a high school senior training at the USOPTC as a member of the Elite Accelerator Program. Bravo-Young had just finished his true-freshman campaign, where he earned All-American honors, placing eighth at the NCAA Tournament.
With the win, Tagg secured a berth to the best-of-three Junior World Team Trials finals, where he would face a future University of North Carolina teammate Jaime Hernandez. Tagg defeated Hernandez two matches to none and would go on to win bronze at the Junior World Championships in Tallinn, Estonia.
