Two-time Senior World Team member and 2017 World silver medalist Thomas Gilman has announced his intention to move from Iowa City to State College, Pa., presumably to train with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. Gilman was a three-time All-American for the University of Iowa and began training with the Hawkeye Wrestling Club after his graduation.
Gilman announced the move this afternoon via his twitter. This comes a day after various outlets reported that Hawkeye Wrestling Club Head Coach Mark Perry could be moving to Arizona State.
Gilman is currently No. 2 on the National Team at 57 kg. Last month, he won the Pan Am Olympic Qualifier, qualifying the weight class for Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games.
In addition to his Senior level results, Gilman was a 2014 Junior World bronze medalist and was also a member of the 2013 Junior World Team and the 2011 Cadet World Team.
