Top U.S. women's freestyle Cadets to compete at Vorobyeva Cup in Russia

USA Wrestling is sending 16 talented Cadet-aged women’s freestylers to St. Petersburg, Russia, to compete at the Vorobyeva Cup on Sept. 27-29.
On Friday, the USA will take on Russia’s Cadet team in a dual that will feature 12 bouts. Then on Saturday and Sunday, there will be an individual tournament with athletes from USA, Russia, Norway and Estonia.
There are several exciting athletes slated to represent the USA, including two-time Cadet World medalist Sterling Dias, 2019 Cadet World bronze medalists Kylie Welker and Amit Elor and 2019 U15 World champions Alex Szkotnicki and Korina Blades and 2019 U15 World silver medalist Resse Larramendy.
Three Cadet Pan American champions will be on the roster as well, including 2019 champions Mia Macaluso and Tristan Kelly and 2018 champ Kennedy Blades.
Kennedy Blades was also a 2019 Cadet World Team member, while Kelly wrestled at the 2018 Cadet World Championships.
Several of the athletes are wrestlers at Wyoming Seminary, which is the top women’s wrestling high school program in the nation. Those athletes include Ava Bayless, Kennedy Blades, Korina Blades, Dakota Dinielli, Abby Duke, Belle Foard, Eleni Johnson, Reese Larramendy, Sophia Smith and Madi Wellen.
