USA Greco-Roman team receives draw for tonight’s first session at Thor Masters in Denmark

NYKOBING FALSTER, Denmark - The U.S. Greco-Roman team has received its draws for the Thor Masters Greco-Roman international tournament this weekend in Nykobing Falster, Denmark.

Three past U.S. World Team members are part of the 19-athlete delegation.

Three-time World Team member Patrick Martinez (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC) will be at 87 kg/191.5 lbs., two-time World Team member G’Angelo Hancock (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) will be competing at 97 kg/213.5 lbs. and 2017 World team member Patrick Smith (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) will be at 77 kg/169.5 lbs.,

2017 Cadet World gold medalist Cohlton Schultz (Parker, Colo./Sunkist Kids/EAP) will also be competing at 130 kg/286 lbs.

The hosts are using the old two-pool international system, in which every athlete is guaranteed at least two matches. The medal matches are determined based upon the results from each pool.

Below, we have listed the expected first two matches for each USA wrestler. However, if there are any athletes who pull out after the first round (injury, withdrawl, disqualification, etc.), that second opponent listed with change. Therefore, we only gave bio information on the first-round opponent.

Wrestling will begin Friday, Mar. 15 at 4 p.m. local time.
