16U Freestyle National Duals All-Tournament Team announced

SPOKANE, Wash. – The 2019 16U Freestyle National Duals All-Tournament Team has been released.


To make the All-Tournament Team, an athlete must go undefeated for the two days of the tournament in that style, with a specific minimum number of matches, which was five for this event


A total of 35 athletes representing 18 different states made the 16U All-Tournament Team in freestyle.


Eight wrestlers earned a 9-0 record, the best record in the freestyle division: DJ Gillett of Oregon (94), Caden Horwath of Michigan (106), Gabe Whisenhunt of Oregon (113), Nash Singleton of Oregon (120), Gavin Drexler of Wisconsin (120), Matthew Bianchi of Wisconsin (138), Clayton Whiting of Wisconsin (160), and Jimmy Colley of Michigan (182).


Minnesota led the way with the most All-Tournament freestyle team members with four. Three states had three athletes on the freestyle All-Tournament Team: Oregon, Wisconsin and Kansas.


There were 14 wrestlers who were All-Tournament in both styles, going undefeated over the four days of competition: Kiason Garcia of Utah (88), Kolby Warren of Missouri (88), Alan Koehler of Minnesota (88), Cael Hughes of Oklahoma (94), Tristan Bremer of Idaho (94), Gabe Whisenhunt of Oregon (113), Derrick Cardinal of Minnesota (126), Hunter Lyden of Minnesota (152/160), Christian Carroll of Indiana (170), Rylan Rogers of Washington (170/182), Noah Pettigrew of Georgia (195), Evan Bates of Indiana (195), Chase Horne of Georgia (220) and Ethan Kremer of Kansas (285).
