Eight of the Junior men’s freestyle champions competing in Greco-Roman are all still alive in the semifinals, and all eight have looked extremely dominant.

Leading the way is Braxton Amos of West Virginia at 220 pounds. Amos has earned four technical falls without allowing a single point scored. Amos also did not allow a point scored against him in route to his freestyle title.

Illinois’ Daniel Sheen hasn’t been challenged at 100 pounds teching his way into the semifinals. Likewise at 113 pounds, Andre Gonzalez of California has won all of his matches by technical fall.

Another Illinois’ freestyle champion, Andrew Molton at 120 pounds won his opening match by disqualification and then teched his next four opponents.

At 138 pounds, Missouri’s Josh Saunders earned technical falls against his first three opponents and pinned his quarterfinals challenger.

Arizona’s Andrew Echemendia has earned four technical falls and a pin on his way to the semifinals. He has yet to surrender a point.

Jace Luchau of California was the lone freestyle champion to fall this round. He bumped up from 152, where he competed in freestyle, to 160. Florida’s Ryan Cody defeated him in the quarterfinals, 5-2.

Surprise freestyle champion, Jonovan Smith of California won a tight opening bout at 195 pounds, 11-9. He then earned an 11-0 technical fall and an 11-4 quarterfinal victory.

At 285 pounds, Luke Luffman of Illinois has earned three technical falls and a 12-5 quarterfinal decision over Joey Slackman of New York.

All four of the 2018 Junior freestyle champions are also still alive in the tournament. Chase LaJoie of Michigan won his opening match by decision, before rattling off four technical falls. He’ll have Junior freestyle runner-up Jakason Burks in the semifinals.

When Idaho’s Ridge Lovett punched his ticket to the semifinals at 138 pounds, it marked his tenth All-American honors earned in Fargo. He took his quarterfinal bout over Spencer Schickram of Oklahoma, 11-3.

Cael Carlson of Minnesota has breezed through his 152 pound bracket with five technical falls. Keeping a similarly blistering pace has been Illinois’ Jace Punke at 220 pounds. Punke has earned four, 10-0, technical falls.

Tomorrow’s Semifinals will take place at 9 a.m. CST and can be streamed on Flowrestling.
