Tim Box takes silver at Odessa Beach Wrestling World Series

Tim Box (Oceanside, Calif.) went 4-1 today to take second place in the 70 kg division at the Beach Wrestling World Series in Odessa, Ukraine. This is United World Wrestling’s third Beach Wrestling World Series event of 2019, with one more scheduled. This is USA’s second Beach Wrestling World Series medal, with Reece Humphrey taking bronze in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this May.
Box downed three opponents from Norway and one from Ukraine, before falling in the finals to Semen Radulov of Ukraine. Box was a 2017 NCAA qualifier for the University of Northern Colorado.
Diana Betanzo (Hillsborough, Calif.) also competed in Women’s Beach Wrestling in the 70 kg+ division. Betanzo went 0-4.
