Black Mambas win inaugural Queen of the Mountain dual title

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. This weekend, The Broadmoor World Arena is home to the annual King of the Mountain tournament, in which youth wrestlers from all over mountain region and states around the country will compete for supremacy.

New this year is the inaugural Queen of the Mountain girls dual tournament.

Friday, the first day of competition, heralded team duals. The boys wrestled for title of King, while girls wrestled for the Queen title.

The Black Mambas, an all-girl team hailing from Iowa, won four duals on the day, crushing the competition to become the first Queen of the Mountain team champion.

Taking second was Colorado All-Star Red, followed by Duran Girls for third.

On the boys side of the event, the BearCave squad from Colorado took the top prize, followed by POWA and Duran/Mesa for second and third, respectively.

The tournament continues with the boys individual tournament on Saturday and the true beginners and girls brackets on Sunday.
