Atlanta hosts Kids Greco-Roman and Freestyle Nationals for second year in a row

ATLANTA, Ga. – Georgia World Congress Center sets the ground for the 2018 Kids Greco-Roman and Freestyle Nationals this Saturday and Sunday. Intermediate through schoolboy/girl, 10 to 14 years-old, who competed in their respective regional championships qualify for this event.
This weekend concludes the final installment of USA Wrestling’s Triple Crown Series. Champions of Folkstyle, Greco-Roman, and Freestyle nationals of the same year will receive the prestigious Triple Crown honor.
At last year’s event, 11 wrestlers earned the Triple Crown honor, including intermediates Thomas Verrette of Colorado at 75 pounds, William Cole of Illinois at 120 pounds and Jonathan Rulo of Illinois at 120+ pounds.
At the novice level Koy Hopke of Wisconsin at 112 pounds, Hudson Davis of Oregon at 130 pounds and Jadon Hellerud of Minnesota at 140 pounds claimed the Triple Crown title.
For schoolboys Kolby Warren of Missouri at 70 pounds, Jordan Williams of Oklahoma at 91 pounds, Jesse Mendez of Indiana at 105 pounds, Deon Davis of Nebraska at 136 pounds and Robert Paul Perez of California at 144 pounds won all three styles.
In addition to the three national championship age-groups, a Bantam Festival will be held in both styles.
Greco-Roman begins the tournament on Saturday, and Freestyle concludes the tournament on Sunday.
