13 warrior wrestlers make the Cadet National Duals All-Tournament Team in both styles

SPOKANE, Wash. – This past weekend at the Cadet National Freestyle Duals, 39 athletes representing 17 states made the All-Tournament Team by going undefeated in the two-day tournament with a minimum number of matches.

 

In the freestyle tournament, Chase Horne of Georgia earned the most victories with a 9-0 record split between the 220 lbs. and 285 lbs. weight class.

 

The freestyle championship team also produced the most All-Tournament Team members. Pennsylvania contributed eight athletes to the All-Tournament Team. Following the champions, Illinois and New Jersey had four athletes each, and Minnesota, Washington, and Kansas had three each.

 

A total of 13 athletes earned both the Greco-Roman and Freestyle Tournament honor: Christopher Martino of Idaho (88), Jore Volk of Minnesota (88), Mason Gehloff of Minnesota (88), Evan Tallmadge of New Jersey (94), Nicholas Kayal of New Jersey (113), Fabian Lopez of Illinois (126), Scott Robertson of Utah (126), Aaden Valdez of Colorado (138), Carson Manville of Pennsylvania (145/152), Quayin Short of Minnesota (160), Weston Lyver of Washington (160), Kyle Haas of Kansas (182), and Colby Whitehill of Pennsylvania (285).

 

The best combined record from those who made both teams earned a 15-0 streak: New Jersey athletes Evan Tallmadge (94) and Nicholas Kayal (113) and Kansas representative Kyle Haas (182).
