J'den Cox of the USA, shown at the 2017 Worlds in Paris, will compete in Turkey on Saturday.

ISTANBUL - The final five U.S. men’s freestyle wrestlers competing in the 2018 Yasar Dogu International have weighed in and received their draws for their competition, which begins on Saturday.

United World Wrestling has posted brackets for the second day, in their special section for the Yasar Dogu International.

2016 Olympic bronze medalist and 2017 World bronze medalist J’den Cox has drawn 2018 European bronze medalist Serdar Boke of Turkey at 92 kg. This is a new international weight class, as Cox had won his medals down at 86 kg the two previous years. There are 13 athletes in Cox’s weight class, including three from host Turkey. Among the athletes in this weight is 2015 World bronze medalist Ali Reza Karimimachiani of Iran, who is in the opposite half-bracket from Cox

James Green, a 2017 World silver medalist and 2015 World bronze medalist, does not yet know his first opponent at 70 kg. He will draw the No. 3 Turkish wrestler in the weight class. There will be a wrestle-off among Turkish athletes tomorrow to determine who will compete against Green. (No nation may have more than three entries in each weight).

2017 World bronze medalist Nick Gwiazdowski will open his 125 kg competition against 2017 Asian silver medalist Sumit of India. If Gwiazdowski wins the first round, he could draw 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Ibahim Saidau of Belarus in the next round. 2013 World University Games silver medalist Alexander Khotsianivski of Ukraine is also in his half bracket.

2018 Ivan Yarygin silver medalist Kyle Dake has a tough first round draw at 79 kg, battling 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and two-time World bronze medalist Jabrail Hasanov of Azerbaijan. In the opposite half bracket is 2013 World bronze medalist Mandakhnaran Ganzorig of Mongolia. Dake is on his first Senior World Team.

Another first-time Senior World Team member, Nahshon Garrett at 61 kg, opens against 2016 European U23 champion Mircala Hasan-zadeh of Azerbaijan.

These athletes will compete at the 11:00 a.m. session on Saturday, with action expected to go through the semifinals. This is seven hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone. (9 a.m. ET)

The entire 2018 U.S. Freestyle World Team is competing in the Yasar Dogu, one at each weight class. The first five U.S. athletes began their competition on Friday, and will complete their weight classes on Saturday.
