National champions Hall, Cruz, Rottier among 13 already tabbed for NWCA All-Star Classic at Princeton, Nov. 5

Over the last few days, there have been a number of announcements regarding the star college athletes who will compete at the NWCA All-Star Classic, which is set for Sunday, Nov. 5 at Jadwin Gym at Princeton University in New Jersey.
Announcements have been made by the NWCA via Twitter, as well as from press releases from the colleges where these athletes compete.
At this point, as of Thursday mid-day, there have been 13 wrestlers, eight men and five women, who have been announced as participants for this annual college wrestling classic.
Included among those announced are three 2017 national champion, a pair of Div. I men’s national champions Darian Cruz of Lehigh (125) and Mark Hall of Penn State (174), as well as WCWA women’s national champion Jessika Rottier of the Univ. of the Cumberlands (170).
On the men’s side, 2017 NCAA runner-up Seth Gross of South Dakota State is in the 133-pound slot. Host Princeton has a competitor in Matt Kolodzic at 149, who was seventh in the 2017 NCAA Championships.
Other 2017 NCAA Div. I All-Americans on the card to this point are Chad Walsh of Rider (165), Drew Foster of Northern Iowa (7th at 184), Jared Haught of Virginia Tech (4th at 197) and Nick Nevills of Penn State (5th at 285).
For the first time, a full card of college women’s freestyle wrestlers will be included on the program. Joining WCWA champion Rottier on the women’s card are four other WCWA All-Americans from 2017.
They include Brandy Lowe of McKendree (3rd at 170), Maria Vidales of Emmanuel (3rd at 109), Hiba Salem of Menlo (4th at 101) and Fayth Woodward of Emmanuel (8th at 116).

Prior to the event, Princeton associate head coach Joe Dubuque will be joined by Olympic champions Brandon Slay, Helen Maroulis and Kyle Snyder as instructors for the Olympian Youth Clinic from 11-1 p.m.. There will also be a unique pre-event social featuring dozens of wrestling celebrities from the past and present.
The event will include a live broadcast by TrackWrestling.
