Hafizov, Coleman, Mueller, Cowan, Lobsinger get Friday draws for CISM Military Worlds

2017 World Team member Ildar Hafizov of the Army is one of four U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers to compete at the CISM Worlds on Friday.
KLAIPEDA, Lithuania – Five U.S. wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the third day of the CISM World Military Championships on Friday.
It is the first day of Greco-Roman action, and the four lightest weight classes will be contested
SPC Ildar Hafizov of the U.S. Army opens at 59 kg/130 lbs. against Vazgen Khachatryan of Armenia, who was fifth in the 2014 Stepan Sargsyan Tournament in Armenia.
Hafizov is on the bottom half of an 11-athlete bracket. Other nations represented in his half-bracket are Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Korea, Poland and Belarus.
Hafizov was a member of the 2017 U.S. World Team, and was second in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. A naturalized U.S. citizen, Hafizov was a 2008 Olympian for Uzbekistan before emigrating to the USA.
SPC Ellis Coleman of the U.S. Army opens the CISM Worlds at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. against 2011 Junior World silver medalist Dawid Karecinski of Poland.
Coleman sits on the ottom half of an 11-athlete bracket. Other nations represented in his half-bracket are Algeria, Iran, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania and Ukraine.
Coleman was a member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team, and competed in the 2013 and 2017 Senior World Championships for the United States. He has also won two Junior World bronze medals.
Competing at 71 kg/156 lbs. is 1LT Brandon Mueller of the U.S. Air Force, who will battle 2015 World bronze medalist Adam Kurak of Russia in the first round.
Mueller drew into the bottom half of a 13-athlete bracket. Other nations represented in his half-bracket are China, Switzerland, Korea, Finland, Iran and Algeria.
SPC Dillon Cowan of the U.S. Army will get a bye in the first round at 75 kg/165 lbs. He will face the winner of the match between 2016 CISM World Military champion Tsimur Berdyieu of Belarus and 2017 European Junior silver medalist Elmar Nuraliev of Ukraine in the second round.
Cowan is in the top half of a 13-athlete bracket. Other nations represented in his half-bracket are Lithuania and Romania. He was second in the 2015 U.S. Open and the 2015 World Team Trials.
Another U.S. women’s freestyle wrestler will compete on Friday, PV2 Katerina Lobsinger of the U.S. Army at 69 kg/152 lbs. Lobsinger will battle 2014 Junior World bronze medalist Danute Domikaityte of Lithuania in the opening round.
Lobsinger is on the bottom half of a seven-athlete bracket. Other nations in her half-bracket are Ukraine and Mongolia. Lobsinger was fifth at the 2014 Cadet World Championships.
