The year was 2012, an Olympic year, and former Oklahoma State NCAA champion Coleman Scott was still making his name in international freestyle. Scott had been very competitive but had not make a U.S. World or Olympic Team. At the Dave Schultz Memorial in February 2012, Scott reached the 60 kg finals, where he drew India's Senior World Team member Rahul Aware. Each wrestler won a period, meaning the winner of the third period would take the gold medal. This match got very wild in the closing seconds - check it out. Later that year, Scott went on to defeat a loaded field to earn a spot on the 2012 Olympic Team, winning the final wrestle-off in Times Square. He went on to win a bronze medal at the 2012 London Games. Scott is currently head wrestling coach at the University of North Carolina.
