Pfau, Fearnside, Miracle and Molinari receive draws for U23 World Championships

BYDGOSZCZ, Poland – The final four U.S. women’s freestyle wrestlers received their draws for Friday’s competition at the U23 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Cody Pfau (Brush, Colo./Titan Mercury), a two-time WCWA champion and two-time fifth-place finisher at Junior Worlds, is back on the World stage, where she will open her tournament against 2017 Junior Asian champion Jiang Zhu of China at 48 kg/106 lbs.
2014 University World bronze medalist Amy Fearnside (Colorado Springs, Colo./Titan Mercury WC) seeks her second World medal, starting her day against 2016 Grand Prix bronze medalist Paula Kozlow of Poland at 53 kg/117 lbs.
Kozlow wrestled at the 2017 Senior World Championships in Paris, France, this summer. She enters her sixth World Championships.
Two-time Junior World medalist Kayla Miracle (Campbellsville, Ky./Sunkist Kids) continues on with her busy wrestling life, entering the tournament at 60 kg/132 lbs.
She drew 2015 Junior World medalist and 2012 Cadet silver medalist Therese Persson of Sweden.
20th Annual Dave Schultz Memorial gold medalist Forrest Molinari (Colorado Springs, Colo./Titan Mercury) looks to continue her breakout year. A 2015 Junior World Team member, she makes her second World appearance tomorrow and will face Martina Kuenz of Austria at 69 kg/152 lbs.
Kuenz, who will step on the World stage for the seventh time tomorrow, took fifth at this year’s Senior Worlds in France. She also owns a 2011 Cadet World bronze.
The preliminary rounds begin at 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. ET), with the medal matches beginning at 6 p.m. (12 p.m. ET) each day. Bydgoszcz is six hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone.
