Roberts, Sancho, Bey and Hancock receive draws for U23 Greco World Championships

BYDGOSZCZ, Poland – The final four U.S. Greco-Roman representatives received their draws for Wednesday’s action of the 2017 U23 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
At 59 kg/130 lbs., Dalton Roberts (Fowlerville, Mich./Sunkist Kids) opens his fourth World tournament against 2014 Junior World bronze medalist Zoltan Levai of Slovakia.
Three-time Senior National Team member Alejandro Sancho (Miami, Fla./New York AC) will compete in his first World tournament since 2014. He’ll face Belarus’ Yuri Kankov, who took fifth at the 2015 Junior European Championships.
Sancho is well versed in international competition, owning seven international medals.
2017 Junior World champion Kamal Bey (Chicago, Ill./Sunkist Kids) is back in action for the USA, competing up a weight at 80 kg. It is his first competition back since the Junior World tournament in Tampere, Finland, in August.
Seeking his second World title of the year, Bey will take on 2013 Junior World silver medalist Andrii Antoniuk of Ukraine.
Representing the United States on the World stage for the third time this year is 2016 Junior World bronze medalist G’Angelo Hancock (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids/New York AC). His other World appearances this summer include the Junior World Championships in Finland and Senior World Championships in Paris, France.
Like Bey, Hancock also moved up a weight to 130 kg/286 lbs., where he will make his heavyweight debut against Romania’s Leonard Berei, who won the 2015 Cadet Balkans Championships and the 2016 Junior Balkans Championships.
The preliminary rounds begin at 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. ET), with the medal matches beginning at 6 p.m. (12 p.m. ET) each day. Bydgoszcz is six hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone.
