Kilty, Figueroa, Bruntil repeat as USMC Junior Folkstyle National champions in Oklahoma City

Alara Boyd of Indiana and Alexandria Liles of Texas battle for the title at 138 pounds. Boyd won this featured final by a 2-0 margin.
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Three returning champions were able to repeat as gold medalists at the U.S. Marine Corps Girls Junior Folkstyle Nationals at the Cox Convention Center on Saturday.
Repeating as Junior Folkstyle National champions were Macey Kilty of Wisconsin at 117 pounds, Gracie Figueroa of California at 122 pounds and Emma Bruntil of Washington at 132 pounds.
Kilty won a “double title” for the second straight year, winning both the Cadet division and the Junior division at the Folkstyle Nationals in the same year. She scored a 4-0 decision over Amanda Walker of Pennsylvania in the finals.
Figueroa, a 2016 Cadet World freestyle bronze medalist, defeated Alexandra Hedrick of California in her finals bout, 4-0.
Bruntil secured a pin in 1:19 in her finals match against Breanna Douglas of Kansas.
2016 Cadet World bronze medalist Alara Boyd of Indiana defeated two-time Junior Folkstyle champion Alexandria Liles of Texas, 2-0 at 138 pounds. Boyd scored an escape in the second period and added a second point on a penalty against Liles. Boyd rode Liles out for the entire third period to win the match.
Four returning Junior Folkstyle National runners-up were able to win gold medals this year, McKayla Campbell of Ohio at 106, Autumn Gordon of Ohio at 112, Alyvia Fiske of California at 164 and Corey Burton of California at 200.
Gordon scored in sudden victory overtime to defeat 2016 Cadet World bronze medalist Alleida Martinez of California, 6-4 in one of the featured finals bouts.
Campbell beat Felicity Taylor of Iowa, 8-3. Fiske stopped Sara Agrilar of California, 13-0. Burton scored a pin in her finals bout over Sierra Adams-Gregory of California in 3:50.
Kilty was not the only double champion this year, as Emily Shilson of the Minnesota Storm added a Junior Nationals title at 100 pounds to her Cadet Nationals title on Friday. Shilson was dominant in a 10-0 major decision over Nichole Moore of Kansas in the Junior finals.
2015 Cadet World bronze medalist Kayla Marano of Georgia dominated the finals at 152 pounds, defeating 2017 Cadet Folkstyle Nationals champion Kiana Pugh of Wisconsin in the finals, 14-0.
One of the most entertaining and competitive finals came at 127 pounds, where Kaden Campbell of Colorado outscored Christina Wilson of California, 10-8.
Jayden Laurent of Wisconsin, a 2016 Cadet Nationals Folkstyle champion, was the winner at 144 pounds, defeating Julia Padilla of California in the finals, 4-0.
Texas had a pair of individual champions in the upper weights, with Nkechinyere Nwankwo at 180 pounds and Rachel Bridges at 225 pounds coming home with national titles. Nwankwo stopped Alexandra Castillo of California in the finals 4-2. Bridges scored a pin over Arianna Cobain of California in 4:23 to close out the finals action.
