USA’s Helen Maroulis (New York, N.Y./Sunkist Kids) and Alli Ragan (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) earned top-two spots in this month’s UWW women’s freestyle world rankings. Four other Americans join them as top-20 in the world at their respective weight classes.

Maroulis, USA’s first female wrestling Olympic champion, remains in the No. 1 spot at 53 kg/117 lbs. In last month’s World Team Trials in Las Vegas, she earned the World Team spot at 58 kg/128 lbs. to punch her ticket to the World Championships for the sixth time. Last month, she competed in the Beat the Streets benefit in New York City, where Team USA wrestled Team Japan in the middle of Times Square. In her bout, Maroulis outlasted 2016 Junior World champion Yuzuru Kamano, who is ranked No. 15 at 58 kg.

2016 World silver medalist Alli Ragan checks in at No. 2 at 60 kg/132 lbs. The Illinois native is fresh off a championship performance at the Pan American championships, where she muscled her way through the competition. Just a week before, she secured her spot on the 2017 World Team at 60 kg. She will represent the U.S. in the World Championships for the fifth time.

Checking at No. 6 at 48 kg/106 lbs. is Victory Anthony (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids). Anthony has competed in several tournaments this year, including the Outstanding Ukrainian Memorial International and Pan American Championships, both where she took gold. She also claimed the 48 kilo title at the World Team Trials in April.

Fellow World Team member Tamyra Mensah (Katy, Texas/Titan Mercury WC) holds a top-10 ranking at 69 kg/152 lbs., coming in at No. 9. Mensah, too, has been active this season. Most notably, she won the prestigious Ivan Yarygin tournament in Russia, becoming only the sixth U.S. woman to do so. She also tallied wins at the World Team Trials and Beat the Streets dual.

2017 World Team member at 55 kg/121 lbs. Becka Leathers and World Team Trials finalist at 58 kg Kayla Miracle chime in at No. 17 and No. 16, respectively.
