Seven U.S. women find spot in pre-World Championships UWW World Rankings

Seven U.S. women are present in the latest installment of the United World Wrestling World Rankings distributed in advance of the World Championships to be held in Paris, France at the end of August.
Five of the eight U.S. World Team members have found a spot in the World Rankings this month.
The highest ranked American is 2016 Olympic champion Helen Maroulis (New York, N.Y./Sunkist Kids), who is slotted in as No. 2 at her new weight class of 58 kg/127 lbs. behind four-time Olympic champion Kaori Icho of Japan. Maroulis was the previous No. 1 at 53 kg/116 lbs. She is the highest ranked woman expected to enter the weight class at the World Championships.
World silver medalist Alli Ragan (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) comes in at No. 3 in the 60 kg/132 lbs. rankings. Ragan has posted great results this season, highlighted by a gold medal at the Pan American Championships in May. She also picked up medals at the Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix and Outstanding Ukrainian Memorial.
Two-time U.S. World Team member Victoria Anthony (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) moved up one spot in the 48 kg/105 lbs. rankings to No. 5. In her last outing, Anthony secured a bronze at the Grand Prix of Spain. She previously won gold at the Pan American Championships and Outstanding Ukrainian Memorial this year.
First-time World Teamer Becka Leathers (Colorado Springs, Colo./Titan Mercury WC) bumped up eight spots to No. 9 at 55 kg/121 lbs. Leathers continued her hot streak with a gold-medal outing at the Grand Prix of Spain last month. It was her third international gold medal of the season.
The final World Team representative featured in the World Rankings is Tamyra Mensah (Katy, Texas/Titan Mercury WC), who fell one spot to No. 10 at 69 kg/152 lbs. Menash remained undefeated on the year with her gold-medal win at the Grand Prix of Spain. She also won the Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix earlier in the year.
World Team Trials runner-up Kayla Miracle (Campbellsville, Ky. /Sunkist Kids) moved up a spot to No. 18 at 58 kg after scoring bronze medals at the Grand Prix of Spain and Pan American Championships.
New to the World Rankings is recently crowned Junior World champion Maya Nelson (Denver, Colo./Sunkist Kids), who enters 63 kg at No. 20.
