Top American wrestlers and international athletes will be showcasing their skills in the three Olympic disciplines, men’s and women’s freestyle, as well as Greco-Roman wrestling. The Dave Schultz Memorial International is included in the #Road2IowaCity series of events which serve as qualifiers for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling in Iowa City, Iowa, April 9-10. The highest placing American wrestler in each weight class who wins a medal and has not yet qualified will earn a spot in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. There will be as many as 18 Olympic Trials berths up for grabs in this competition.

This year, there is a new Dave Schultz Memorial International logo, which depicts a fox graphic. This new design is inspired by the nickname that Russian wrestling fans gave to Dave Schultz, who competed in Russia over 30 times in his career. Fans would chant "Khitry Lisa" (Kee-tra Lee-sa), or "Sly Fox" in admiration of his wrestling style. Dave’s wife Nancy was involved in the design of the new logo for the tournament which is named in his honor.

Event sponsors include the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The event will be streamed live each day by Flowrestling.
