2013 World Team member Angel Escobedo has been added to the United States men’s freestyle roster for the Pan American Games.

Escobedo will compete at the Pan Am Games for the U.S. at 57 kg/125.5 lbs. on July 17 in Toronto, Canada.

Escobedo (Ames, Iowa/New York AC) replaces two-time World Team member Tony Ramos, who will not be competing in Toronto.

Escobedo is coming off a third-place finish at the U.S. World Team Trials last month in Madison, Wis.

Escobedo placed fifth at the 2013 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. He was an NCAA champion for Indiana.

Ramos, who won June’s World Team Trials, is still scheduled to compete for the U.S. at September’s World Championships in Las Vegas.

The U.S. will compete at the Pan Am Games in men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling on July 15-18 in Toronto.
